The Story of Les Frangines

A Legacy of Mountains and Hospitality

Two Sisters from Châtel

We are Morgane and Floriane, two sisters from Châtel, in Haute-Savoie. We grew up in the heart of this village resort, in a family where hospitality, the restaurant business, tourism, construction, and the mountains set the rhythm of our daily lives.

Our parents instilled in us a love for a job well done, for warm and welcoming places, and for a simple, sincere hospitality—just like at home. We’ve never forgotten this legacy: it continues to inspire everything we’re building today.

For us, the mountains aren’t just a backdrop —they’re a way of life, a way of being, and a connection to people and the seasons. It’s this sensibility that we wanted to rediscover—and then share—by creating a place that reflects who we are, true to what has shaped us since childhood.

A restaurant in Toulouse, a school of life

The first adventure

At a very young age— 21 and 24—the desire to start a business took hold. We opened our first restaurant by taking over a well-known brasserie on the shore of a lake in Toulouse. It was an intense and formative adventure—sometimes a real challenge—that taught us a great deal: customer service, organization, dealing with the unexpected, long hours, and, above all, the art of working together without stepping on each other’s toes.

There, we discovered our strengths, our limitations, and how well we complemented each other. After a few wonderful years in the Southwest, we decided to sell. The restaurant business no longer fit the lifestyle we wanted; we missed the mountains, and we dreamed of a project more in line with our values. That first experience was a valuable learning experience: it laid the foundation for everything that followed.

Back to the Roots

Picking up the thread of a family story

Returning to Châtel then seemed like the obvious choice. Our family is part of the village’s tourism history: our grandparents helped develop the resort, and our parents, too, built their lives around the mountains, hospitality, and crafts. So coming back here wasn’t just about returning home. It was about picking up the thread of our family’s story and taking it in a new direction—in our own way.

We wanted to build on what others had started before us, without freezing it in time, but by adding our own perspective and that of our generation. Châtel, its peaks, its forest, its winters—all of this is part of who we are. Establishing a project there was a way of giving back to this village what it had given us.

Two paths, one team

What sets us apart is our strength

Our life stories truly reflect our differences.

Morgane attended the Savoie Léman Hotel Management High School in Thonon, where she earned a high school diploma in hospitality and restaurant management, followed by a BTS in Tourism Sales and Operations. She has a natural aptitude for hospitality, customer relations, reservations, communications, marketing, concierge services, and event planning.

Floriane, for her part, earned a high school diploma in laboratory science and technology, studied biology in college, and then attended preparatory courses at the Institute of Judicial Studies and for the customs service entrance exam. Her areas of expertise include coordination, administrative work, accounting, billing, supplier and order management, and staff supervision.

Two paths that seem far apart, but that complement each other perfectly when brought together. Where one explores, the other provides structure: it is this balance that holds the entire project together.

Who Does What

Complementary strengths, every day

In their day-to-day work, each of them plays her own role. Morgane handles back-office operations, reservations, customer service, communications, concierge services, and event planning— she’s the one with the slightly crazy ideas. Floriane oversees coordination, administrative tasks, accounting, suppliers, orders, and general organization— she’s the one who keeps everyone grounded.

But nothing is really decided on its own. We discuss our ideas, refine them, sometimes challenge each other’s views, and then develop them together. Our personalities differ, but our ways of working are closely intertwined. Each of us brings our own perspective, skills, and energy, and it’s from this constant exchange that our best decisions emerge. We complement each other without being alike, and that’s undoubtedly the key to how we move forward together.

Welcome to Les Frangines

One shared goal: to help you experience the mountains in a whole new way

Working as a family is intense: we never really disconnect; we’re always talking about work. But what we’re most proud of as sisters is having gone through this journey together, supporting one another, without ever letting disagreements damage our bond. We’re also proud to have led this project as women in a very male-dominated world.

Today, our parents watch us grow with immense pride. That’s what Savoya Lodges is all about: two very different but deeply complementary sisters, driven by the same goal. Our mission can be summed up in just a few words: to help you discover Châtel and the mountains through our eyes, with sincerity, comfort, character, and authenticity. Welcome to our home. Welcome to Les Frangines. Welcome to Savoya Lodges.
